Stop non-stop overcrowding on Cross-Country's rail services.
The Issue
I am a rail enthusiasts who regularly visits York railway station. And everyday is full of many different services. However, one operator sticks out from the crowd, and that is the Arriva owned company Cross-Country Trains As I watch tens of these services pull in and depart, I have not once seen a single seat free on a train. This is not something that can't be stopped it is just stupidity. The flagship route of the ROC is from Edinburgh all the way to Penzance that takes numerous hours. Unfortunately for the uncared about passengers, there will be four coaches and on a good day five of them thus causing mass overcrowding before the services even reach large cities such as: Leeds, Sheffield and Birmingham. A second reason that cannot be overstated are the delays on Cross-Country's whole network. If you want to travel to the Enormous, Magnificent cities you simply have to avoid other great cities to stay on time because, lets face it you are not going to travel on the longest route in the UK (Thirteen and a half hours long) without a delay. My proposal, is that trains should avoid places of a size comparable with Wakefield in order to prevent overcrowding and decrease journey time.
