We, the undersigned Delawareans, believe that State Parks should be places for quiet contemplation and tranquility – places that all of us can go to enjoy nature without interference.  We also believe the same quiet and respect for others applies to residential areas, and that no one has the right to impede on others’ quiet enjoyment of their own property. 

To that end, we urge Commissioner Mette of the Delaware Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission to reject the application to allow a commercial business, Dew Point, to use external speakers and amplifiers on a property directly adjacent to the Yorklyn Bridge Trail (a walking path that is part of Auburn Valley State Park/Auburn Heights Preserve) and only 700 feet from homes.  Placing a business’s pecuniary interests above the significant adverse effect on park patrons and homeowners (many of whom have resided in Yorklyn for decades) is not in the best interest of the community.
