Stop Nintendo's Overly Broad Patent Practices in the U.S.

Stop Nintendo's Overly Broad Patent Practices in the U.S.
The Issue
Nintendo, a renowned name in the gaming industry, has been potentially filing overly broad patents within the United States. This is not only has the potential of stifling creativity, but it also seems to attempt to patent concepts widely used by other gaming companies.
Overly broad patents intend to strike down competition and lead to an innovation bottleneck, which is against the essence of patent regimes. Patents should promote the progress of useful arts, not hinder it. In this vein, Nintendo's actions are concerning.
Furthermore, such approaches can potentially give birth to patent trolls within the industry.
We respectfully urge the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to thoroughly examine and scrutinize these claimed patents with relevant subject matter experts, or we risk greatly restricting innovation, and competitive fairness in the gaming industry.
Sign this petition to support the cause and contribute towards a fair gaming industry.
Attempting to weaponize the patent system against competition is not reasonable, nor ethical.

"Abstract
In a first mode, an aiming direction in a virtual space is determined based on a second operation input, and a player character is caused to launch, in the aiming direction, an item that affects a field character disposed on a field in the virtual space, based on a third operation input. In a second mode, the aiming direction is determined, based on the second operation input, and the player character is caused to launch, in the aiming direction, a fighting character that fights, based on the third operation input."
Brawlhalla - Players can aim and launch characters or projectiles at opponents. The aiming direction is determined by player input, and the results depend on the chosen action.
Angry Birds - Players aim and launch birds at structures to defeat pigs. The mechanics involve selecting an aiming direction and launching based on input, affecting the field characters (the pigs).
Overcooked! 2 - In this cooperative cooking game, players can launch items (like ingredients) at each other to prepare dishes, where aiming is determined by player input.
Rocket League - Players can direct their cars (the "fighting characters") to hit the ball (item) in specific directions. The aiming and launching mechanics are critical to gameplay.
TowerFall Ascension - Players can aim arrows or projectiles in different directions and launch them at opponents, determining the action based on input.

"Abstract
In an example of a game program, a ground boarding target object or an air boarding target object is selected by a selection operation, and a player character is caused to board the selected boarding target object. If the player character aboard the air boarding target object moves toward the ground, the player character is automatically changed to the state where the player character is aboard the ground boarding target object, and brought into the state where the player character can move on the ground."
GTA V (Grand Theft Auto V) - Players can enter vehicles (air or ground). Transitioning from an aircraft to driving a car or running on foot happens fluidly when the player chooses to land or exit.
Just Cause Series - Players can board vehicles in mid-air (like planes or helicopters) and transition to parachuting or grappling to the ground, switching states depending on their actions.
Titanfall 2 - Players can parkour, wall-run, and use a Titan to move between ground and air, with the ability to transition smoothly between controlling a Titan and moving on foot.
We have already seen instances in which patents in the gaming industry have been locked away, such as the Warner Brothers Nemesis System, this must not become common practice.
Overly Broad Patents, especially for which other products already broadly rely upon, cannot be tolerated in a free market.
