Stop New Missouri Ag Gag Legislation!

Stop New Missouri Ag Gag Legislation!
The Issue
Missouri companion bills HB 1414 AND SB 928 are dangerous ag gag bills that would create an “information blackout” for factory farms and puppy mills, blocking you from learning about animal cruelty, toxic pollution and human health hazards.
These "ag gag" bills would exclude agricultural industries from the Missouri Sunshine Law, which was created to guarantee citizens the right to obtain all records from public government bodies. If these bills pass, nobody – not even journalists -- will have access to agricultural data collection.
This is a travesty; the agriculture industry must NOT be exempt from the same transparency as everyone else. It’s also terrible news for the animals who suffer every day on factory farms and puppy mills, and a huge blow to the rights of both humans and animals.
Sign now to let Missouri Governor Jay Nixon know that America is watching – and he must denounce these insidious bills and promise to veto them if they pass the House and Senate.
