Our reservoirs in Colorado are hitting critical lows, and while data centers view open land as their next conquest, our water supply is dwindling rapidly. As fire season looms, we’ve just experienced rainfall that’s sure to be consumed within the next few months. We can’t continue down this path. Our state doesn’t have the water resources to support more data centers, which demand enormous water quantities for cooling and operations.

Colorado is facing a severe drought, and our environmental stability is at stake. This also includes surrounding states like Utah, Wyoming, and Arizona. Adding more data centers will strain our already scarce water resources, accelerating the depletion of our reservoirs. The current situation is disheartening. The water we have won’t last long if we allow additional data centers to pop up unchecked across the state. This isn’t sustainable. We need our water to survive. 

By completely banning new data center projects, we can prevent further water depletion and protect our community’s essential resources. It’s vital to prioritize the needs of people and our environment over the expansion of industries that don't respect our region's limitations. We need to act before it’s too late. 

Data centers may offer economic benefits, but they come with a hidden cost we cannot afford. Colorado is a unique and beautiful state, but its natural resources are finite.
