Stop neglect and abuse at Inspired Living

Just last month, I was homeless for an entire week, not knowing where to turn. In my moment of desperation, I turned to Inspired Living, hoping for a safe and supportive environment to help me get back on my feet. Instead, this experience has been nothing short of hell.
I signed an agreement with Inspired Living that allowed them to manage my medications, thinking it would ensure my well-being. However, for an entire week, I was left without my necessary medications, a negligence that led me to the hospital. But this wasn't the end of the horror; it was just the beginning.
I was placed in a living situation with a 40-year-old active meth addict who regularly smokes meth in our house and has random violent outbursts. I am a young person who just turned 18, forced to face these terrifying threats daily. She has a criminal record and has threatened to harm and kill people in our house. My other housemate is just as young as I am, making this situation even more unsettling.
One day, I found blood on my bedsheet because she was injecting herself in my room. I am scared, vulnerable, and feeling constantly at risk in what should have been a safe haven. There's no locks. I have to barricade myself in my room with my bed, just to stay safe in a house I pay $325 a week for. Inspired Living is failing disabled, at-risk people by not providing a secure environment and they're taking advantage of vulnerable individuals who have nowhere else to turn.
This situation highlights a systemic issue of neglect and exploitation within facilities like Inspired Living. We cannot allow them to continue operating under these conditions. It's not just about improving policies on paper, but about enforcing stringent checks and balances to ensure the safety and well-being of those under their care.
I am calling for an urgent inquiry into the practices of Inspired Living and compelling them to immediately rectify these hazardous situations. We need mandatory background checks, increased oversight, and strict standards for managing residents' medications to protect us against negligence.
