We’re asking every signer of this petition to donate a mere $100 to this cause. The project is very much still alive, the stakes are extremely high, and the outcome will have an enormous impact on the future of our city. This will be a war of attrition against major players in Three Leaf Partners and Milwaukee Rescue Mission whose tactic will be bleeding us dry of attorney fees. If we fail, only a financial remedy of the Common Council’s denial, such as a payment in lieu taxes, would stand between this getting built. The threat is alive and real, the situation is serious, and we need urgent support to stay in this fight.
If you are still unsure of how this will impact you personally and our community, please review the picture of records obtained through the Milwaukee Police Departments open records (there are more to other addresses at this facility...). Milwaukee Rescue Mission is conveniently downplaying ERT calls with unconfirmed numbers based on their own internal record keeping which is unverifiable. What is irrefutable, are the actual response calls to the organization's central campus which is at a volume the city of New Berlin simply would be unable to handle.
