Our military services have no business recruiting children under the age of 18.  Each year hundreds of thousands of kids in the US are actively recruited by our military, and each year well over 10,000 of these kids under 18 join the armed forces.

This petition asks our elected officials to pass legislation barring all forms of military recruitment of children by the armed services, including the STARBASE and Junior ROTC programs.  It also asks our representatives to change existing legislation to prevent schools from releasing student contact information to military recruiters.

Letter to
U.S. House of Representatives
U.S. Senate
President of the United States
I urge you to actively work to prevent recruitment of our children by the armed forces.

Our military services have no business recruiting children under the age of 18. Each year hundreds of thousands of kids in the US are actively recruited by our military, and each year well over 10,000 of these kids under 18 join the armed forces.

As an elected official, I ask that you actively work to pass legislation barring all forms of military recruitment of children by the armed services, including the STARBASE and Junior ROTC programs and all other marketing programs directed at children. I also ask that you work to change existing legislation to prevent schools from releasing private student data, including contact information, to military recruiters.

Thank you for your time, and I look forward to your response and action on this issue.
