Stop Meta from stealing data to train their AI - they must have a simple way to opt out

The Issue

Meta (alongside many other sites) has been sneakily incorporating Ai into their sites. In their "How Meta uses information for generative AI models and features" article, they state "We use information that is publicly available online and licensed information. We also use information shared on Meta’s Products and services. This information could be things like posts or photos and their captions". They clearly state that they are using publicly posted photos and posts from their services (meaning included but not limited to Instagram and Facebook), but these platforms have failed to provide a clear and simple way to file to opt out of your data being used. Just because an account posts publicly, shouldn't mean that their information is free to be used for training Ai without the author/owner's consent. Photos, posts, and captions are personal information and users should have the right to opt out of having their data used  the same way sites have notices to opt out of cookies.

Right now, the only way to submit any form of opt out is to show proof that you have noticed your data has already been implemented into their Ai system and you would like it removed. This means that you can only submit a request to opt out of having your data fed into their training system once the deed has already been done - there are no preventative measures before the Ai starts using your data. This is fucked up. This is theft. This is a violation of personal rights- why isn't there a clear distinct way for users to opt out before their information is in the Meta Ai system. Many other sites, such as Adobe, Slack, Grammerly, etc.  have already added options in their user privacy settings to allow their users to opt out of having their data used for Ai training. Why can't Meta?

Support this petition to demand that Meta must provide users with a clear opt out of Ai training option - not some confusing form that only works after your data has been fed to the machine.
