15 Horses Raced at Los Alamitos July 4th Weekend on Less than 8 Days Rest is Animal Abuse!

This past weekend, in the Third and final weekend of the "Los Angeles County Fair Meet in Orange County" at Los Alamitos Race Course, 15 horses were raced who had just been raced the weekend prior (6/26-28) -- raced back on less than Eight days rest. THIS is Animal Abuse, and it shows what a shortage of racehorses exists in California.
Published today in Thoroughbred Daily News: "The Stronach Group's closure of Golden Gate Fields in the Bay Area of Northern California two years ago may have consolidated more starters and handle at The Stronach Group's Santa Anita Park. But contraction of California's ecosystem has made the state more of an island, and Santa Anita struggles to fill fields for stakes races." https://www.thoroughbreddailynews.com/racings-excess-capacity-problem-too-many-races-too-many-tracks/
THANK YOU for Signing this Petition to the leaders of our California Legislature to put a proposition on the 2028 Ballot to repeal the legalization of gambling on live horse races, added to the California Constitution in 1933. The horse racing industry is dying, put the horses out of its misery. Please keep Sharing this Petition and encourage others to Sign and Share!
