The following petition has been created anonymously for the sake of it not tying back to me personally, and to not get myself in more trouble with the school.

My family is Palestinian, and my school tried to silence my voice by calling my posters "political," even though they were meant to educate people about what's happening in my home country and what has been happening for the last 76 years. Other valid things that the school supports is celebrating pride month, there are flags all around the school, and they did a whole fundraiser for Ukraine. Yet they claim they aren't allowed to be political at the school—sure. If my people were white and if there wasn't any demonizing of Muslims on social media, this would be a completely different story. The school would've been in full support of the awareness I'm raising, and they would hold a fundraiser for us too.

It's time to stop Islamophobia within all schools across British Columbia, and eventually all of Canada. Students should have the freedom to express their concerns for Palestine without fear of censorship or discrimination. Sign this petition if you believe in equal rights for all students and an end to double standards in our educational institutions!
