Despite research showing there is NO DEMAND, and NO MARKET to support another cinema in Ipswich, we believe Council are wasting millions in Ratepayers' money to build another one.

STOP HAND-OUTS TO FOREIGN COMPANIES
Even worse, Council is reportedly planning to hand MILLIONS OF YOUR RATES DOLLARS to a foreign mega-conglomerate to operate these cinemas, in direct competition with existing local operators. 

STOP THE SECRECY
No detail of the potential millions in subsidies and incentives are publicly available. You cannot scrutinise the way Council is spending YOUR MONEY, because it is all hidden under a cloak of 'COMMERCIAL CONFIDENTIALITY'. 

STOP THE HYPOCRISY
What happen to Council's commitment to transparency? What happened to their commitment 'complement, not compete' with nearby businesses in the CBD? They've seemingly ignored their own commitments and are doing the opposite. 

STOP THE COUNCIL SPIN
Council says new cinemas will miraculously transform the CBD. In the real world, CBD Cinemas have been closing around Australia for years, and global cinema attendance has been decimated by COVID. The reality is that new cinemas in the Nicholas Street Precinct will destroy existing jobs and businesses, not transform our City.
