Stop sponsoring and promoting the use of FaceTune on social media, and stop using models with flawless skin in advertising campaigns. Acne is more normal than clear skin, and targeting people's insecurities to sell or influence for profit is harmful to the mental health and physical well-being of everyone, particularly our younger generation.

We need to ban the use of editing software on platforms such as Instagram, and we need to ensure that sponsored content is not content that has been edited and changed to warp reality.

While Ofcom monitor adverts and prevent false advertising, this petition goes much further. False advertisement is only part of the problem. Showcasing and promoting a fake reality is harmful to people, particularly in terms of comparisons of oneself and an influencers' online presence.

Stop telling young people what stage they should be at and start encouraging natural posts and empowering messages. Promoting influencers who have heavily edited images and who promote false and unhealthy appearances needs to end.
