The Issue

Batavia is more than available land and electrical power—it’s our home.

A massive AI data center has already been approved, bringing unprecedented demands on our electric grid, increased industrial activity, and long-term impacts that our community may be forced to live with for decades. These facilities consume enormous amounts of electricity, generate continuous noise, and provide relatively few permanent jobs in return.

Many residents were unaware this project was moving forward until after key decisions had already been made. We believe Batavia deserves greater transparency, meaningful public input, and development that puts our neighborhoods—not corporate interests—first.

Communities across the country have successfully challenged large data center projects when residents came together and made their voices heard. Batavia can too.

We call on our elected officials to stop further AI data center development in Batavia and reconsider this project through a transparent public process that puts the health, character, and future of our community first.

Sign this petition if you believe Batavia deserves a voice before our town is permanently changed.
