Virginia residents: You may not know that dozens of  ICE transport flights pass through Richmond International Airport each month. These flights transport detainees from one holding facility to another, without any due process, and against their will. RIC was a way-station for 26 of these flights in July 2026, and 27 more in August (the last month for which data is available.)

Many of these detainees have followed all the rules of their pending immigration cases. But ICE still snatched them from their families and jobs, revoked their status, and shipped them from one detention center to another. This "shuffle" hides their whereabouts from their families and lawyers.  Many eventually self-deport out of despair. These flights are barbarous and cruel; they also may very well be illegal and unconstitutional.

Tell the Capital Region Airport Commission, and the airlines collaborating with these inhumane practices : "No more."
