Stopping house prices from getting too high will help because some people are affected by house prices being too high. Younger people trying to buy their first house are also affected because sometimes they can’t find any or not many houses for sale at a price they can afford. 

If things change and the house prices stop increasing or get cheaper, younger people will more likely be able to buy a house and people who couldn’t afford a house before might be able to now, but this will only happen if the house prices go down. Did you know that in the last ten years, the average asking price has doubled in 12 out of the 19 regions and nationally the average asking price has gone up 77.5% going from $504,388 in 2014 to $895,289 in 2023.
