I am pleased to report that at the recent Granada Hills South Neighborhood Council Board meeting the motion passed to request the City of Los Angeles require Home Depot to complete an Environmental Impact Report (EIR).  With a detailed EIR, the community will have the opportunity to review professional organizations' analysis on potential increased traffic and semi-trucks, noise and air pollution, increase of pedestrian accident risk and environmental safety. This is the first step in requiring Home Depot to file a EIR which will determine the short and long-term effect of the new light industrial complex.

For more information on our concerns with the new project, please go to www.StopHomeDepot.com to read the complete report analyzing all of the documents submitted by Home Depot to the City of Los Angeles Planning Department.

We are very close to our 2,000 signatures. If you know anyone who also cares about stopping HD, please forward this petition.  Once we have hit the milestone of 2,000 signatures, I will forward the petition to Council Member John Lee (CD12), the City of Los Angeles Planning Department, the office of the Mayor of Los Angeles, and all of the local Neighborhood Councils. We have been told that government officials need to know where the community stands on the HD project.  Our petition will send a clear message that we do not want or need a HD so close to 6 schools and residents.  The Change.org petition will continue to remand open, as this is going to be a long fight.

I want to thank everyone for their continued support of our cause to prevent HD from destroying our neighborhood shopping center.

TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCEIN OUR COMMUNITY.

Best Regards,

Candice
