Stop HOA ban on Security and accent lighting

Stop HOA ban on Security and accent lighting
The Issue
To My Fellow Fields residents,
Please sign our petition to allow these discreet lights in our community
THE PROBLEM:
The Fields HOA is banning the possession and installation of concealed security, accent/holiday lighting.
Many in our community have already had them installed with the general understanding the HOA governing documents have put forth regarding lighting. Namely the allowance of holiday lighting, "mood lighting" (lights that are white hue and point down affixed to a permanent structure), and accent lighting.
We as a community are trying to be heard. So far any approach to discuss the issue has been met with almost immediate rejection by the HOA Board without valid reasoning. As well as false accusations of architectural design and accusations of where the accent lightings are located. Further, those that have had the lights already are being targeted by the HOA seeking out homes at night that may have these lights so they can begin the process of getting them removed.
We are trying to be heard as a greater community to make a change to ARC guidelines without the need to potentially use HOA dues for representation.
PLEASE NOTE: Orion’s Belt community HOA are approving these lighting solutions in there community.
WHAT IT IS:
This is a discreet lighting system that provides an elegant solution for nightly accent/security lighting all-in-one. National and world studies show that light combined with one other factor, like cameras, reduces crime. Programming for the lighting was designed so that each homeowner can turn on or off any specific light in the system so that they can add light to the darkest corners or near windows and doors for every day security needs. The homeowner can also create their own hue of white to best match their home or other exterior lighting. The lighting system has customizable nightly timers for security lighting to come on automatically from sunset to sunrise or static times.
Security: Adding light to any home deters crime. Light also helps security cameras pick up better images. System can be set to be turned on from sunset to sunrise for security/accent lighting or set to turn on only when there is motion.
Safety: The accent lighting illuminates walkways and stairs to expose tripping hazards like debris.
Concealed accent/holiday lighting is a new trend in home improvement. Popular known brands are Jellyfish Lighting and Trim a home lighting.
These lights are nearly invisible during the day and provide homeowners the ability to use them for discreet and attractive accent lighting on their homes as well as choose holiday lighting in December.
WHY PEOPLE WANT THEM:
There are many reasons why homeowners across Castle Rock are interested in this solution. A few include:
- safety: no longer need to climb ladders to install lights or take them down
- curb appeal: showcase your biggest investment (your home) in attractive seasonal ways or throughout the year with tasteful architectural lighting
- security: provides soft illumination promoting safety and security in the neighborhood
- increase property value: investment of a very "nice to have" on your home setting it apart from others and increasing it's real estate value
- HOA Advantage: many HOAs across the US are thrilled with the inclusion of these lights as they are adding an unprecedented amount of professionalism to holiday displays and architectural lighting community homes present
