Stop High-Density Housing Subdivision in our Rural Allen County Community

The Issue

Residents of our rural community are facing a major lifestyle change due to the proposed development of a massive subdivision on Coverdale Road.

With nearly 700 homes, this project would permanently alter the tranquil agricultural landscape. A development of this scale would place significant pressure on infrastructure, public services, and the surrounding community. It could lower nearby property values, overwhelm existing roads with increased traffic, and convert more than 200 acres of open land into dense housing—raising concerns about stormwater runoff, drainage, and environmental impact.

The developer also plans to designate a large portion of the property as R3, the highest-density zoning allowed in Allen County. This zoning allows multi-family housing such as apartment complexes, either now or in the future.

This urban-style development would dramatically increase residential density in an area intended for rural land use and agriculture. It threatens the quiet, farming lifestyle that residents chose when settling here. Development decisions should align with long-term planning goals and protect the character of our community.

Help preserve the country character of our area and support a sustainable future for our community.
