Stop healthcare systems from making medical decisions without actually evaluating patients

The Issue

I’ve had appointments canceled and medical decisions made about me by providers I’ve never met, based only on chart review. I was told I was “fine” before all of my scans were even completed, while I was still actively having symptoms.

As a cancer survivor now facing new health concerns, being dismissed without a full evaluation isn’t just frustrating, it’s dangerous.

Patients are being assessed, redirected, and reassured based on incomplete information every day. Appointments are canceled without being seen. Decisions are made without full imaging. And patients are left to either accept it or fight to be taken seriously.

This is not just a communication issue. It’s a patient safety issue.

No one should have their care dismissed or redirected without being properly evaluated. No one should be told they’re “fine” before all relevant testing is completed. And no one should have medical decisions made about their body by someone who has never seen or spoken to them.

Healthcare systems must implement clear standards that require:

Direct patient evaluation (in-person or telehealth) before canceling or redirecting care
Full review of all relevant imaging and test results before making clinical decisions
Transparent communication when decisions are being made based on incomplete information
Patients deserve to be evaluated, not assumed.

By signing this petition, you are supporting safer, more accountable healthcare practices that prioritize complete information, direct evaluation, and patient safety over convenience.
