Stop Healthcare Delays and Save Lives - Delayed Treatment is Denied Treatment

Stop Healthcare Delays and Save Lives - Delayed Treatment is Denied Treatment
The Issue
Hello All,
Title: Urgent Action Needed: Stop Healthcare Delays and Save Lives in Canada
Our healthcare system is in crisis, and we can no longer stand by as our loved ones suffer due to delayed treatment. Sandra Salim (25), was too young to succumb to cancer due to the lack of timely medical treatment at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener. This is just one example of the countless lives affected by this ongoing issue. This isn't an isolated incident; it's a recurring problem that demands immediate attention from our government.
A study conducted by SecondStreet.org indicates that in 2022–23, a five-year high of 17,032 Canadian patients died while waiting for medical procedures, some of which could have saved lives. These patients faced wait times that varied from less than a week to nearly 11 years. Consequently, SecondStreet.org’s estimate of deaths tends to be conservative, suggesting that as many as 31,397 patients may have passed away across the country since 2018. The majority of Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as Manitoba, were not included in these statistics.
It's heart-wrenching to witness families, children and seniors waiting for hours in front of emergency rooms, desperate for immediate medical care. This is not the Canada we believe, We believe that this is a wake-up call for the healthcare system to be more proactive and efficient for those who need it most.
We refuse to accept this broken system any longer. It's time for us to unite and demand for change. We call upon each and every compassionate individual to join our cause. Together, we can raise our voice and push for changes that will put an end to these unnecessary hardships.
By signing this petition, you are standing up for everyone living in Canada who have faced the consequences of a fragile healthcare system. Your signature is a symbol of hope and a call for action. Let's make our collective voice impossible to ignore – sign now and let's transform our healthcare system for the better.
