Stop hate speech against black women by Adin Ross

The Issue

Being a Black woman in today's society is a challenging experience. Often, we are burdened with harmful stereotypes that paint us as aggressive, uneducated, or as problem starters. These perceptions are not just immensely hurtful but damaging to our daily lives and our future.

Unfortunately, figures with substantial influence, such as the famous streamer Adin Ross, are exacerbating this issue by spreading hate speech about Black women. It's disheartening and infuriating to see our identities attacked and misrepresented to a vast audience—a community that absorbs, reflects, and sometimes acts on these biased narratives.

According to a report by the Southern Poverty Law Center, prominent influencers who engage in hate speech significantly contribute to a hostile environment, encouraging discrimination and violence. Social platforms must enforce stricter policies to ensure their platforms are safe spaces for all individuals, especially those from minority communities.

Adin Ross has millions of followers who hang on his every word. When he speaks ill of Black women, it reinforces negative stereotypes and perpetuates a cycle of hate and misunderstanding. Influencers have an undeniable impact on shaping public opinion and societal norms. Stopping this promotion of hate can be achieved by taking decisive action: banning accounts that engage in hate speech, offering sensitivity training for influencers, and launching awareness campaigns that educate about diversity and respect.

We urge Twitch, YouTube, and all platforms hosting Adin Ross to hold him accountable for his words and to protect Black women from verbal attacks and discrimination. We deserve safety, respect, and the ability to exist without fear of hatred being spread about us due to our race and gender.

Join us in signing this petition. Let's demand a safer, more inclusive digital space for everyone. Everybody should feel when they come online. We as a society need to start holding these influencers accountable.
