Stop hate crimes against children!

Stop hate crimes against children!
The Issue
Friday night December 9th, my son and his friend both 16yrs old, had their lives threatened in Kirkwood, a neighborhood in St. Louis county, MIssouri. Kirkwood is a tightly-knit diverse, community. My son and his friend, who are biracial/African-American, were told by the 19yr Caucasian male that he was going to put bullets in their head after repeatedly calling them the (N) word. He tried running them off the road into on coming traffic, in his gray pickup truck. We went to the Kirkwood police station in person the next morning to make a report about this incident. The police officer we spoke to was hesitant about taking our report. We were also told by kirkwood police that they are aware of the 19yr old male and prior incidents that he has caused. When the kirkwood police have questioned him, the 19yr old male denies any involvement. We were told that there is nothing that can be done unless they have proof and (catch him in the act). We were persistent until a report was taken. My son and his friend also gave their statements. After posting about this racial hateful crime on Facebook to share with our community several victims have come forth giving us information and telling us their negative interactions they have experienced with the same male. Per the Kirkwood police officer who finally took the report this male does not live in Kirkwood. Information has be shared that this male lives in St. Louis city and drives to Kirkwood to harass, threaten and hurt teenagers. This has been happening for a while and nothing has been resolved! We as a community need answers and justice! We need to put a stop to this racial hate! We need to protect our community and our children! When we get the answers and resolution we deserve as a community we will then allow our children to hangout in downtown kirkwood again.
The goal of this petition is twofold:
1. To raise awareness in our community.
• Please share widely
• Sign the petition.
• comment if you have had any contact with the individual that you would like to share.
2. To encourage the police to act immediately on this problem that affects the safety of our children in our community. some suggestions for Kirkwood Police intervention are.
• Plain clothes officers in marked cars patrolling.
• Request footage.
• Taking statements from employees that saw this incident.
We as a community are not giving up! By signing and sharing this petition it will raise awareness and help our local Kirkwood Police Department to develop a concrete plan to curb the racial injustice that we experienced in our hometown of Kirkwood.
* We are asking the Kirkwood Police Department to hear our pleas and have this 19yr old male held legally accountable for his actions.
