I am writing this petition on behalf of a dear friend who is a member of the LGBTQ community in Jones, Isabela, Philippines. She has experienced firsthand the sting of disrespect and discrimination simply because of her sexual orientation. This is not an isolated case; many others from our community are suffering silently under similar circumstances.

In our town alone, there are countless stories like my friend's that remain untold. These individuals face daily challenges due to prejudice and lack of understanding about their identities. It's time we stand up against this injustice.

According to Human Rights Watch, members of the LGBTQ community in the Philippines continue to face discrimination despite legal protections in place. This discrimination can take many forms - from bullying at school or work to violence and harassment on the streets (Human Rights Watch report 2020).

We believe that everyone deserves respect regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. We call upon local authorities in Jones, Isabela to enforce anti-discrimination laws more strictly and promote inclusivity through education programs.

This petition aims not only to protect my friend but also every member of our community who identifies as LGBTQ+. Let us unite for respect and equality for all citizens regardless their sexual orientation or gender identity.
