Stop unnecessary road and lane closures on and around Edgware Way (A41), Barnet Way and the Watford Way during the start and end of the school day causing chaos and gridlocked traffic. These works have been planned to continue until the middle of the summer time.

No work is actually being carried out during the start or end of the school day but teachers, school staff, students, parents, carers, school bus drivers and transport assistants have journeys delayed up to 90 minutes because of the multiple road/ lane closures. This causes staff shortages, late arrivals, dysregulated children and severe disruption at the beginning of the school day.

Children who are commuting to specialist school settings in the area, several with medical needs, some as young as five years old, are spending 2.5 hours stuck on a bus for a journey that typically lasts 45 minutes.

TFL, please consider carrying out these works during more sensible hours that do not impact the health and safety of our teachers, school staff, students, parents, carers, school bus drivers and transport assistants. 

The school summer holidays will start on the 22nd of July and most schools will be closed for 6 weeks, please consider utilising this time period when  the volume of traffic will be significantly reduced. 

Please stop causing our final term of the academic year to be unhappy, stressful and problematic!
