How many times have you been in Porirua and seen disgusting, dirty and graffitied allies and buildings? Personally, every time I visit our wonderful city, I see it filled with graffiti all over buildings, pathways, and signs. Interviewing the community, every person I talked to argrees that this is a big problem. Other towns and cities across New Zealand say that Porirua is the worst town to live in. The things people graffiti are horrible. Not a single person in our community would ever want anything bad sprayed all over Porirua.

If things stay this way, this problem will only get worse. Some people see Porirua as an unsafe and gross town. And they do have a reason. A One News article shows an example of tagging and the negatives it causes. “Racial slurs have been spray-painted on a road that leads to Hongoeka Marae near Plimmerton, Porirua. "Black c****", "N***** Only", and the acronym "SFH" — believed to be in reference to the Mongrel Mob — were scrawled across the road in white spray paint”. We don’t want to be THAT city. We want to be the place where everyone wants to stay.

Why should we act now? Because we can finally make a change. Get rid of this gross graffiti. With your help and all the votes we already have, we can finally make a change and put a stop to this disgraceful cover hiding our beautiful city, Porirua.
