As of 29/03/26, Gorillaz are confirmed to be utilising generative AI in the visual accompaniment provided by SWEAR Studios for the "algorithmic entropy" button.

There have been two confirmed cases of use during the Mountain tour, alongside usage of AI upscaling technology being used for the original 2001 visuals at the Copper Box show for Self-Titled, establishing a pattern.

This petition has been created to formally declare disapproval of this approach, regardless of if use is intended to be 'ironic'.

The use also directly contradicts Jamie Hewlett's own personal stance on generative AI, stating in a recent Absolute Radio Interview: "We are not using AI in our work, and we will never use AI in our work." 

We politely request that all use of generative content is stopped.
