The FTC is holding a public meeting on December 14th. Click here to sign up. It's two minutes to speak. Your story can make a difference and possibly save lives.
Last month, only a couple of people spoke. After speaking at the FTC meeting, I was exhausted after family life, work, and traveling to Oklahoma to hear the temperature regulations updates and meet with Dr. Bled Tanoe of #PizzaIsNotWorking. All of my advocacy is volunteer.
After I was done speaking, I broke down in tears of exhaustion but was thankful that maybe our voice was being heard. Maybe, our regulators will do something to save the lives risked by unsafe temperature control, delays, or being forced to use an understaffed corporate chain pharmacy.
Change isn't coming fast enough. I see almost daily that patients are going without critical cancer medications and other life-saving medications due to delays. The complaints increase every year around the holidays. It hits so close to home when I see transplant patients like my son going without transplant medications that their lives depend on every 12 hours. Medications are arriving damaged, and most are not stored at safe temperatures.
If you care about the issues or have a story about the issues with pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), Express Scripts, Optum RX, CVS Caremark, please speak up. Please be the voice for our children, patients, and moms like me. No one will listen to me, but they will listen to us.
Your voice is the support we need to save lives.
If you sign up to speak, watch your email closely. They will email you a couple of days prior. It's virtual.
Thank you,
Loretta Boesing, Patient Advocate
