Petition updateStop Forcing Mail-Order Pharmacy as the Only Option of CoverageSurvey Indicates Widespread Issues with Mail-order Pharmacy

A recent survey cited in  Healthcare Finance by Richard Pizzi indicates widespread issues with mail-order pharmacy. The issues include delays in patients receiving medications that often results in patients paying for emergency dosages from their local pharmacy.

Every day, I come across people who are suffering without their medications. The delayed medications can cause patients to experience life-threatening consequences. Patients should not be forced to risk going without medications for their cancer treatment, transplant, blood pressure, immunosuppression, psychiatric disorders, or any other type of medical condition.

The article further states, "these survey results should make employers and other health plan sponsors think twice before imposing a mandatory mail order requirement on their patients."

As many of our pharmacies close due to forced mail-order pharmacy and unfair reimbursements from the same corporate umbrella that forces patients to their mail-order, the question is unanswered as to where patients will go when our brick and mortar stores are no longer in existence? This is the situation for many  in many rural areas across our nation as many rural pharmacies have closed due to unfair business practices by PBMs such as CVS Caremark, Express Scripts, and Optum RX.

Mail-order could be an option, but not forced. Patients should have the options in their coverage to choose their trusted pharmacists.

Please keep sharing the petition. We appreciate your support!

 Thank you,
