Florida is messing with AP courses again

• Last year, parents, students, educators, and community members across Florida came together to speak up when lawmakers proposed major changes to funding for AP, IB, AICE, and Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs, and we got them to back off their 50% proposed cuts!  This year, the state is allocating funding differently and it appears that student success doesn't equal funding-- follow the link to learn more, and send a message to your state legislators to restore funding.

• Additionally, on April 10, 2026 the Florida Department of Education issued a memo that the state will be piloting a US History course for college credit in the 2026-27 school year. Desantis wants to replace AP US History with this course written by his cronies instead of the globally recognized rigor offered by the College Board AP class.  This will leave Florida students at a distinct disadvantage as college applicants.
