Consensus Among 29 Diverse Organisations to Demand Warning Labels on HFSS

1. We are all aware that India is facing a growing epidemic of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular illnesses.

2. It is driven largely by the consumption of unhealthy diets containing ultra-processed and high-fat, sugar and salt (HFSS) food and beverage products.

3. Aggressive advertising and misleading labels are behind this.

4. Evidence from India and globally supports mandatory front‑of‑pack warning labels on food products found high in fats/sugars or salt.

5. India's Economic survey-2025 and Supreme Court directive ask for urgent regulatory action.

6. This statement is endorsed by 29 national organisations from the fields of public health, agriculture, environment, medicine, nutrition, consumer issues etc.

7. It is high time that we involve anyone and everyone to add their name to this demand. PLEASE SHARE WIDELY !! Get them sign this petition . https://chng.it/N7M4zmBn9c

We thank you for your continued support !!
