The issue

For the past three years, I have been living a nightmare that no loving father should ever endure. Despite being a caring and responsible parent, I have been forcibly separated from my daughter, forbidden by court orders manipulated by vindictive claims and support groups who wield the law as a weapon of personal vendetta. My heart aches every day, knowing that my daughter is deprived of a father’s love and guidance through no fault of either mine or hers. This terrifying reality is shared by countless fathers whose rights are discarded without a fair chance of defending themselves.

Family violence against men is a pressing issue that often fades into obscurity. Statistics and studies highlight a concerning trend: Family violence against men occurs more frequently than widely believed, yet remains overshadowed by cases focusing only on women. The Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) and other authoritative bodies inadvertently encourage these skewed narratives, which are only bolstered by manipulative tactics from certain groups aiming to separate fathers from their children unjustly.

The legal and social systems, biased and blind, empower these divisive elements, escalating their narcissistic behaviour and rendering men helpless. This systemic failure cries out for change, fairness, and equity. It is crucial that we acknowledge that family violence is not gender-specific and address the legal loopholes that allow for such devastating misuse of power.

To stop this epidemic of abuse, we demand that:
1. Government bodies such as the DFFH recognize and address family violence against men with the seriousness it deserves.
2. Implement impartial review processes in family courts to ensure decisions are based on truth, not prejudice or manipulation.
3. Introduce mandatory training for all stakeholders in family law and support services to recognize and prevent gender bias.
4. Establish independent oversight to review contentious legal decisions that significantly impact parental rights.

It is time for us to advocate for just and balanced measures that protect all families, ensure children maintain their bonds with both parents, and bring fairness back into our legal systems.

Please join me in calling on our legal and government authorities to act now. Let us stand together to make sure no child is alienated from their parent due to the misuse of power and manipulation.
