Stop fake animal rescue videos on social media!

Stop fake animal rescue videos on social media!
The Issue
There’s an increasingly growing number of disturbing fake animal rescue videos on social media platforms. In these videos people will pretend to rescue one or more innocent and defenceless animals from heartbreaking conditions or situations. The rescues are fake. The animals used in the videos will be either killed or held in captivity under appalling circumstances until used again for new videos.
We need to urge YouTube, Facebook, instagram and other social media platforms to put an end to this. The content should NOT be shown and prohibiting them is the only way to stop this madness. Thousands of people online have tried to report these videos to the various social media platforms, but nothing is being done about it.
There seems to be an over representation of videos shot in Asian countries - the victims typically being monkeys, dogs in the dog meat markets and kittens. Let’s put an end to this. Help urge social media platforms and help spread the word. We cannot allow this heartbreaking phenomenon to go on. Sign today!
