Lynnette Brooks started this petition to Governor of Texas Greg Abbott and
Shelter animals deserve to experience all the love and beauty that the world has to offer. There are too many animals dying in shelters, too many animals being bred into this world. This is a growing problem in our communities and we must hold breeders and irresponsible pet owners accountable.
possible solutions -
- Limit breeders on the number of puppies they are allowed to have
- Community service / fines / jail time/ for irresponsible pet owners
- Build larger , sustainable shelters with built in enrichment programs.
- Easier access to free / low cost spay and neuter clinics
- More networking / communication between shelters ( The Denver city shelter works with surrounding shelters to help find animals homes by moving them around )
