The Spriggan watches over Parkland Walk—a guardian of wilderness, myth, and community. Please help us protect this irreplaceable space from illegal development and neglect!
Dear Supporters,
We have a breakthrough in our fight for Parkland Walk—and a legendary guardian on our side.
While our legal case grows stronger, Parkland Walk is also watched over by the spriggan, folklore’s wild stone sentry hiding under the Crouch End platforms. This is more than a path. It’s a place where nature, story, and people unite.
Here’s what’s at stake:
A 1954 restrictive covenant prohibits the construction of buildings or structures within 20 feet of Parkland Walk in Shephard's Close, N6 5AG, thereby protecting wildlife, habitat, and public enjoyment.
Haringey Council is the official guardian of this promise—and has already enforced it to stop harm at 3 Francis Place. They must do so again now, for Shepherds Close.
The developer has felled 19 trees without a lawfully registered Section 211 notice or public consultation, and has erected illegal fencing, proposing damaging excavation and machinery access.
The law is clear: it is a crime to fell trees in a conservation area without proper notice and the chance for public and expert scrutiny. Each illegally felled tree can result in fines of up to £20,000, and the Council has the power to require the developer to replant and restore what has been lost.
We are not just objecting. We are insisting:
ENFORCE THE LAW: Prosecute illegal felling, issue replanting and enforcement notices, and hold the developer fully accountable.
REJECT THE PLANS: Refuse HGY/2025/1552 and block any attempt to exploit our beloved Walk.
PROTECT FOREVER: Support our formal request to designate Parkland Walk and Shepherds Close as a protected Local Green Space for future generations.
This is not just about 19 trees—it’s about stopping a “slow-motion loss” of all our green spaces through weak enforcement and planning exploitation. The spirit of Parkland Walk—from wildflowers to the spriggan—depends on our action.
