Stop Deportation of an Indian Deceased Father's Children and Spouse from UK

Stop Deportation of an Indian Deceased Father's Children and Spouse from UK
The Issue
We, the undersigned, kindly request the Right Honourable Yvette Cooper MP, Home Secretary, to take urgent action to prevent the deportation of the dependents of Sunil Rastogi, who sadly died at the young age of 39, leaving his wife, Priya Rastogi, and their two young children, a 7-year-old daughter and an 8-week-old son, liable to deportation.
Sunil Rastogi was a dedicated skilled worker, and a cherished member of the Filton & Bradley Stoke Parliamentary constituency based in Charlton Hayes, South Gloucestershire. Tragically, he passed away on February 18th, 2025, at Southmead Hospital A&E. He was only 39 years old and is survived by his loving wife, a 7-year-old daughter, and an 8-week-old son.
Sunil's sudden death has left the family devastated and facing an uncertain future. Sunil was not only a devoted husband and father but also a hardworking professional who contributed significantly to the information technology industry in the UK for the past 3.5 years. He had great dreams of becoming a naturalized British citizen and making a lasting impact on this country.
His family's dependent visa, which expires soon, is tied to Sunil's work visa. With his untimely passing, his young family face the imminent threat of deportation. This situation has added immense emotional and financial stress to already grieving hearts.
Sunil's daughter has been attending the local school and scouts’ group for the last 3.5 years, and the family has become an integral part of the British community. The thought of uprooting their lives and leaving behind the only home his children have known is heart-wrenching. Sunil's presence in the community was deeply valued, and his loss has shocked and saddened many.
The community has rallied around during this difficult time, with a GoFundMe campaign for Sunil's family attracting donations from 1,400 people. The support and love from community have been overwhelming, and it shows just how much Sunil and his family mean to this community. The link to the GoFundMe campaign: link here.
The Daily Mail has also covered this unfortunate loss, highlighting the struggles the family faces: link here.
We kindly request the Right Honourable Yvette Cooper MP, Home Secretary, to grant compassionate Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) to Priya Rastogi and her two young children, a 7-year-old daughter and an 8-week-old son. This compassionate intervention will allow the family to remain in the UK, where they can continue to be a part of the community and fulfil their father’s dream.
Please, in the name of humanity and compassion, help find a way for the young family to stay in the UK and rebuild their lives after this tragic loss.
