Stop Eviction & Deed Theft of Our 501 (c) (3) Tax-Exempt Church, Registered Charity in New York City Feeding over 5000 People Every Month.

Deed Theft on August 14, 2018 at a lawyer's office                                                    at Law  88-18 Sutphin Blvd 1st Floor Jamaica NY 11435

In July 2006, our church purchased this property through years of sacrifice—fundraisers, community support, and relentless stewardship—so we could serve Queens not just on Sundays, but every day. Since October 2006, our church has operated as a lifeline for the neighborhood, including a food pantry serving more than 5,000 people every month, along with counseling, youth support, and community services.

What happened

In August 2018, our church became entangled in what we believe to be a deed-theft / deed-fraud situation connected to paperwork presented to us during a transaction meeting in Jamaica, Queens. We did not knowingly or willingly consent to transferring ownership of our church property.

Today, our congregation and the community services we provide are threatened by ongoing litigation and eviction pressure—even though this property is our spiritual home, our community base, and for my family, our residence.

Why this matters (bigger than us)

Deed theft is not “paperwork confusion.” It is a real, growing crime that targets vulnerable communities and can strip people and institutions of their property without true consent. New York State has publicly acknowledged the seriousness of deed theft and has strengthened enforcement and protections.

For religious and nonprofit organizations, real-estate transactions can require court or Attorney General review/approval under New York law. That safeguard exists for a reason: to prevent exactly this type of abuse.

Our court matters

• Queens Supreme Court: Index No. 700299/2023 (title/ownership dispute)

• Queens Housing Court matters (related): L/T 311916/22/QU and L/T 308494/22/QU

(We will keep supporters updated as key rulings and dates occur.)

What we are asking for

We respectfully call on the New York State Attorney General and other appropriate authorities to:

1) Ensure our church is protected from eviction and displacement while ownership/title issues are being litigated.

2) Review and investigate the circumstances surrounding the alleged deed theft / deed fraud connected to our property.

3) Support a fair resolution that protects our congregation, our charitable operations, and the thousands of neighbors who rely on our services.

How you can help

Please sign and share this petition. Your name is not just a signature—it’s a shield. It tells decision-makers that a community-serving charity should not be pushed out through alleged fraud and procedural pressure.
