I am a resident of Wayne County, a serene community characterized by its lush landscapes, vibrant wildlife, and a sense of tranquility that is becoming increasingly rare. However, this precious balance is under threat from plans to introduce a large-scale data center into our neighborhood.

Data centers, while essential for digital infrastructure, come with significant environmental and societal costs. These centers require vast amounts of water for cooling processes and draw substantial power, which can strain our already limited resources. In Wayne County, the introduction of a data center could lead to over-taxation of our infrastructure, risking shortages and outages that would impact every resident.

Data centers also have been shown to be the center of a significant amount of noise pollution that would affect the people and wildlife living near any proposed data center.
