Stop CPS Energy from Monopolizing and Overcharging San Antonio Residents

Stop CPS Energy from Monopolizing and Overcharging San Antonio Residents
The Issue
As a resident of San Antonio, I have personally witnessed the struggles of many people in our city to pay their energy bills. Despite efforts to conserve energy, the bills remain high or even increase. During extreme weather conditions like ice storms or heatwaves, power is often shut off for days at a time. Yet, despite these service disruptions and our best efforts to manage usage, CPS Energy continues to raise rates.
CPS Energy has a monopoly over electricity services in San Antonio. This lack of competition allows them to set rates as high as they want with no regard for the financial strain it places on residents. Furthermore, having the City Mayor on the Board of Directors for CPS presents a clear conflict of interest that needs addressing.
It's time we demand better options than simply agreeing to pay exorbitant fees or going without power altogether. We need competitive companies that can offer fair rates and reliable service.
This petition calls on local government officials and regulatory bodies to break up this monopoly and invite new energy companies into San Antonio market. It's time we put an end to this exploitation by ensuring fair competition in our city's energy sector.
Please sign this petition if you believe in fair pricing and choice when it comes to your electricity provider!
