It is proven that fumes from aircraft oil contain chemicals/toxins that are hazardous to human health and it it a fact that these chemicals/toxins enter the air conditioning system in bleed air aircraft.
Despite numerous reports and scientific evidence from leading scientists in this field the British Government continue to use the (flawed) Cranfield Study (of just 100 flights) to state that the air onboard aircraft is safe.
Lessons have not been learned.
Contaminated Air in Aircraft is a similar scenario to the suffering caused to so many by ASBESTOS. An Industry that blatantly ignored warnings and deliberately hid information- despite the illness being suffered by many workers.
It took almost 50 years for the harm from asbestos to be recognised in a UK court.
It was proven in a US court that there had been a cover up to suppress information on the dangers of asbestos exposure in order to avoid lawsuits.
The Aircraft Industry has and continues to behave in a similar manner.
Toxic, Contaminated Air In Aircraft has been labelled as ‘The Asbestos of the Skies’.
The World Health Organisation - June 2017:
Where are we right now? In exactly the same place (for many of those injured) as 30 years ago:
Dealing with denial, suppressing information, and the continuation of sweeping the issue under the carpet. The litigation from Contaminated Air in Aircraft will be massive - perhaps that’s why a lid is being deliberately kept on it.

Volatile Organic Compounds In Aircraft Oil (VOC’s)- These 3 in particular regularly show in Crew tests results:

Organophosphates: (Scroll down to ‘Chemical Contaminants of Concern’)

Then what the authorities (regulators and governments) do not take into account is that these chemicals are mixed together and become even more dangerous when they are heated at extreme temperatures within the aircraft engines and leak into the aircraft cockpit and cabin:

The reports, studies and scientific evidence keep coming, but the establishment either don’t want believe it or just choose to ignore it - exactly the same as the Asbestos scandal all those years ago.
If you have been involved in a Fume Event onboard an aircraft let us know via the link below. If you are Crew please report it through your company’s official reporting procedure also. If you are a union member please ensure you send a copy of that report to them too AND always keep a copy of the report for yourself.
