As you are all aware I started this petition nearly a year ago for many different reasons, mainly how much the government charges commonwealth soldiers like my husband and many others to become British citizens. This in my eyes is completely unfair and morally wrong as these soldiers like our own have chosen to give their life to our queen and country. They pay their taxes are not entitled to any benefits and are then expected to pay over £2000 to remain in this country after service.

Since I started this petition we have been blessed by an anonymous sponsor who was willing to help with some of the cost towards my husbands citizenship and for that as a family we are very grateful. 

Although we no longer have the stress of getting my husband citizenship I still believe that this is a fight I need to do. As their is many other families going through the stress and worry we have been through Army life is stressful enough without the added stress of finding the money to remain in the uk after service.

Thank you for your continuing support in this. I plan to fight till the end for all other commonwealth soldiers.
