For all that have had trouble signing the government petition here is the response I have had.

Dear Hannah,

Thank you very much for your message. I’m sorry that people are having trouble with signing your petition.

Please ask everyone who’s having difficulties to get in touch with us directly. Once they’ve done that, we’ll be very happy to help them out. Please let them know that it’s important to contact us from the e-mail address which they used to sign the petition, and to let us know which petition they’ve tried to sign.

To stop this from happening in future, please advise everyone that the best thing to do is add our e-mail address (no-reply@petition.parliament.uk) to their ‘trusted sender’ list or whitelist. This tells their e-mail provider that they’re happy to receive automated e-mails (like confirmation e-mails) from the Parliamentary petitions website. This helps because some e-mail providers think that these e-mails are spam, as the website sends thousands of them every day, and blocks them from their inboxes.

Please let us know if we can help you out with anything else. We’re always very happy to talk about petitions.

Kindest regards,
