Originally contracted to build defense drones using Canadian parts and funded by Canadian tax dollars, Draganfly has taken a course that undermines our national interest and equity.
In a shocking move, Draganfly sold 51% of its shares to Unusual Machines, an American company, which means that these drones, initially a product of Canadian craftsmanship, will now have their parts manufactured in Florida, USA. This not only shifts crucial economic activity out of Canada but also diverts our hard-earned tax dollars meant to bolster our domestic industries to another country.
Moreover, the revelation that Donald Trump Jr. is a major shareholder of Unusual Machines and now sits as an advisory board member of Draganfly feels like an enormous slap in the face to Canadian taxpayers who never intended their contributions to bolster foreign, especially American, interests. The loss of Canadian control and the undermining of our own military manufacturing are unacceptable.
This petition calls upon the Canadian government to halt any further funding and contracts with Draganfly until they can guarantee that all manufacturing and operational activities are returned to Canada.
