Stop Bullying Constituents and Support Charter Rights

The Issue

Recently, certain elected officials in Niagara have engaged in a campaign to publicly smear those of us who dare question them; I have personally been targetted for expressing my opinion by writing petitions. This goes to the very heart of Canadian democracy; silencing the public is akin to silencing our democratic rights and leads only to dictortorship and tyranny.

We can not allow our elected representatives to continue to attempt to shame us through slander and lawsuits. Let our politicians know you expect decorum and decency from them, without having to waste taxpayer dollars on continuous Integrity Commissioner Reports and lawsuits.

PLEASE SUPPORT OUR DEMOCRATIC RIGHTS and STOP BULLYING.

Section 2 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees:

Everyone has the following fundamental freedoms:
(a) freedom of conscience and religion;
(b) freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication;
(c) freedom of peaceful assembly; and
(d) freedom of association.
