The Issue

Ethan's story is one I'll never forget. Ethan, a beagle, was brought into this world not to experience the love of a family or the joy of play, but to exist as a subject in an endless cycle of laboratory testing. Facilities like Envigo, Marshall, and Ridglan continue to breed thousands of dogs each year, subjecting them to tests that too often fail to advance human health outcomes.

Ethan was one of the few who made it out of that life, but many of his fellow canines aren't so lucky. They're trapped in cages, living their days out in environments that offer little more than suffering and confusion, all in the name of questionable scientific progress.

The reality is that animal testing, specifically with dogs bred for this purpose, does not always translate into effective human outcomes. Numerous studies have shown that alternative testing methods, including computer models and cell-based tests, can offer more accurate, humane, and economically feasible solutions.

We stand at the crossroads of moral responsibility and scientific advancement. By choosing compassionate alternatives, we can foster a world where innovation and empathy go hand in hand. Let us push for policy reforms that prioritize these alternative methods over outdated practices that harm both animals and the credibility of scientific research.

Join us in urging lawmakers, research institutions, and grant bodies to fund and prioritize research that does not require the unethical breeding and testing of dogs. By doing so, we stand to benefit human health, animal welfare, and scientific integrity.

Sign this petition to end the breeding of dogs for lab tests and champion life-saving, ethical science for humans and animals alike. Together, we can make a difference.
