Stop Book Bans! Support Samuels Public Library.
The Issue
Our library needs your support!
There is a small group in our community that is trying to have books removed from Samuels Public Library simply because they disagree with certain themes. Our library has a carefully curated catalog that offers a wide range of perspectives on various topics, and we wholeheartedly support this approach. It’s crucial to remember that no one is compelled to read material they find objectionable, but removing these books from the collection would deny access to those who value them. We firmly oppose such actions and recognize them for what they truly are: censorship.
Since this group was unable to get the books removed, they are now seeking to attack the library's funding, which is approved each year by the Warren County Board of Supervisors. As Front Royal and Warren County residents, our tax dollars fund the library and its programs, and we strongly believe that this funding should remain intact.
Samuels is so much more than just a library! In addition to the library's collection (which contains more than 105,000 items and counting!), Samuels also provides hundreds of free programs each year for children and adults. There are computers available for use, as well as copy, scan, fax, and notary services. The library also has study rooms, a computer lab, 2 conference rooms, and public meeting rooms available to reserve, and most are free of charge. Tens of thousands of town and county residents enjoy what Samuels Public Library offers our community, and we must make sure that their wonderful work continues!
