BLM is using helicopter RoundupsBLM to gather wild mustangs of BLM lands. These are public lands and not just for the use of ranching. They are removing the wild horses due to lack of water but stock are allowed to continue to graze these "decimated" lands.  While many areas, stock were turned out later or removed earlier due to lack of water or forage, the horses can't leave in search of water.  It would be cheaper to provide water in these drought areas than the huge costs involved with RoundupsBLM, both financially and physically to the horses. The horses are run at high speeds in hot temperatures to holding pens.  Many are injured or even killed in this process.  Water bait traps would certainly be more humane but then the cost of feeding, transportation to giant "holding" pens to be kept for an indefinate time period, maybe the rest of their lives.  These horses survive in the most barren areas, do we need to take the last few places left?  We deserve to be able to see these last Mustangs living wild and free.  These horses are a part of our Nation's heritage and deserve a place in the wild.  These Mustangs need your voice, many areas of the West the BLM is removing entire herds with none being returned to the range they've lived their entire lives on.  If you would like these horses to be a part of your America, please lend your voice.
