Tannery House is still standing in spite of severe opposition, recent criminal activity and alleged human rights abuses! Sending a big thank you to previous supporters, but its not over yet. Accountability is needed. Please support this voice for change. It is difficult to write updates with relentless oppression in housing. Threats to health and safety continue to be exhausting. Land developers should not be able to terrorize people.

Exposing alleged unlawful predatory harassment with behind the scenes details on an arrest, "heist" and theft orchestrated by staff from Montcrest Asset Management, a developer https://www.montcrest.com/ are being shared now as a way to protect the public.

Resistance to an alleged unlawful eviction and demolition of affordable housing has been ongoing since starting this petition. Valid reasons to resist changed over time, such as but not limited to alleged recent criminal activity. Harassment at Tannery house has an appearance of being designed to silence as well as to unlawfully induce vacating the tenancy. It is hoped this petition will be shared in the public interest. This should not happen to anyone!

A very troubling issue has just come out in the news about the City of Toronto's handling of the same developer Montcrest, formerly NYX Capital Corporation, name changed at end of 2023. The news released Dec. 1, 2023 calls into question all that took place for the Mississauga development related to Tannery house over the past 5 years. As stated via CP24 news and CTV News for Montcrest's other project, demolition permits could not be issued because the developer had not complied with applicable law.

“While the demolition permits were applied for in March of this year, they could not be issued as [developers] are not in compliance with applicable law,” a spokesperson said.

"Residential properties cannot be demolished without the issuance of a replacement building permit. There is no replacement building permit applied for at this time,” they continued."

Similar circumstances appear to exist for demolition permits issued by the City of Mississauga for Tannery house, one big reason this petition was started. Public City of Mississauga property information shows no replacement building permits have been issued as of January 15, 2024 for Tannery house. Demolition of 208 Emby Drive, part of the proposed development, began at the end of Dec. 2023. Noisy intrusive work continues to negatively affect Tannery house. See recent photo taken January 5, 2024. A residential house was just demolished at 208 Emby Dr. Whether by loopholes or not, something is just not right about all this.

A new blog named "StreetsvilleStory" exposes alleged unlawful predatory harassment of resident(s) for this Mississauga development and should be sufficient to deny alleged unlawful eviction. Tannery house is still standing as a result of processes described in the blog below. For more information go to:
