I received an e-mail from the city project manager last week. She said, "I just received an email from AT&T’s consultant withdrawing their Carmel Valley Library project. They indicated that the design criteria imposed by the city would not allow them to achieve the transmission of frequencies they needed for in-building coverage. They are looking at other opportunities in the area."
This is great news! Thank you to everyone who signed the petition.
I also wanted to let all of you know that others in San Diego (and throughout the country) are facing the same issue. I was contacted a few months ago by a woman in La Jolla. AT&T is trying to install a cell tower in one of their community parks that is also near a school. The community is currently fighting it. They are also trying to petition the city to stop future proposals for cell towers in city parks. When I receive the petition information I will forward it to all of you. I hope you will join me in signing their petition and letting the City and cell phone companies that they need to select appropriate locations for their cell towers.
Thank you again for your support!
