**Overview:**
I’m reaching out to you today with deep concern over the proposed severance package for Andy Wright, our city attorney for Lebanon. He plans to leave his position soon, and there is currently a deal on the table that would pay him over $17,000 every month for an entire year. This is a decision that impacts us all, as it involves the usage of taxpayer money – our money!

**Why This Matters:**
A severance package, especially of this magnitude, should not go unchecked. It’s crucial for us to question whether this payment is justified or in the city's best interest, particularly during a time when public funds are needed for essential city services and infrastructure improvements. Viewing past evaluations, Andy hasn't been improving his work performance and it has been mediocre at best. Why does he deserve to be paid this amount of money for no improvement?

Funding that could benefit our roads, or be invested directly into community programs to support families, could instead be handed out in retirement benefits.

The approval of such a lavish severance package would set a precarious precedent for how public funds are appropriated in our city. We need to ensure that any decision taken by our City Council truly reflects the best interests of Lebanon and its people.
